Who we are

The Bottom Shelf Society is a semi-secret gathering devoted to the preservation of character, conversation, and the gloriously unpolished places that make Columbus more interesting.

Founded in Columbus, Ohio, the Society meets in bars with history, neon, cheap drinks, loyal regulars, and stories built into the walls.

This is not networking.
This is not nightlife.
This is not a club in the traditional sense.

It is a standing reason to step out of the routine, lower the pretension, and spend time with people worth knowing outside of normal obligations.

Membership is informal, selectively unclear, and best not overexplained.

Names are mentioned.
Judgments are made.
Occasionally, someone is told where to be on a Thursday.

In a world polished past the point of personality, The Bottom Shelf Society remains committed to places with character and people worth staying out a little later for.

Questionable Taste. Excellent Company.
